ALL PARTS FOR YOUR CUMMINS TRUCK
Our Story
Revelation
When Dodge first announced that a Cummins MEDIUM DUTY TRUCK engine was going to be available in their 3/4 and 1 ton pickups, our owner and founder knew what brand he would be using from then on. Compared to the Ford 6.9L and Chevy/GMC 5.7L & 6.2L he had owned previously the 5.9 Cummins was true diesel heaven. Remember the Dodge ads that showed the
Cummins connecting rods laying next to the Fords? That picture was worth more than a 1000 words.
Contemplation
As his fleet grew his appreciation for the Million Mile Motor only increased. Power, Good Fuel Mileage AND Reliability? A true trifecta. His love dimmed a little with the introduction of the 24V in late 98. Yup, he was a true dinosaur. By then he was using a mix of 75% waste oil and 25% diesel fuel to power his trucks and the Bosch VP44 just did not stand up to the waste oil or even long term diesel use like his beloved
P-Pump. So he stopped buying new and just accumulated 98 12 valves in all of the configurations necessary for his personal and business use.
Inception
Stuck in that time warp he needed a reliable and economical source for maintenance and repair parts. Thus Poor Man's Diesel was born, mainly to source parts for his growing fleet of pickups and his buddies 12 valves
as well. He felt a few parts sold on eBay might provide enough profit to pay for the parts he needed for himself. He was right! But the demand
kept growing. So poormansdiesel.com was launched and now ALL 12 valve owners have access to Genuine Cummins parts at the best prices available.
